Hospitalization

Hospitalization may be a requirement as part of the treatment for your health care. Dr. Nieto provides the best care for every patient, and for this purpose she determines if you need to stay overnight in the hospital or if you will be permitted to go home with someone who takes care of you. Remember, for Dr. Nieto your health and wellbeing are the most important. If you are asked to stay in the hospital, surely your doctor wants to assure the surgical treatment meets the expectations.

Right after surgery, you must stay in the recovery room to continue monitoring and to observe the immediate effects of anesthesia.

The anesthesiologist will stay with you until you recover from anesthesia. Postoperatively, your drains (if any) will be closely observed. Also, your vital signs and general condition will be monitored until your recovery from anesthesia. Some medications will be prescribed to minimize any discomfort.
